Subject: Answer to file question
I just checked the file (track 1 set 1), and it decoded perfectly fine on my end. If it's still giving you trouble, hit me up through my website http://dead-phish.com and I can send you the file in wav format if you need.

Subject: The first file in the set.
While it may download, it does not decode and it therefore not able to be played.

Subject: In agreement!
I have to agree with everyone here that this show was fantastic and as someone who has seen DSO several times, this was easily the best one yet. I was really worried about John being gone and the band losing that spark but they have it IN SPADES with Jeff.

Half way through the show I said to a friend that I think Phil and Bobby picked the wrong guy! I love John dearly and love what he's doing with Furthur but DSO is still killing it out there and this show proves it.

I listened to the real show on Archive a day or two after and I was struck by how close they got - a great attention to detail. This is what DSO is all about and that is apparently not going to change.

Oh, and Rob Eaton is awesome. He keeps it all together with that Bobby sound on the 335 but with much more focus. Kept things tight.

Barraco on the keys doing that Pig thing during Schoolgirl and Lovelight were just incredible. He's another guy that Furthur should have actually poached (but thank God they didn't).

All in all, great show. Thanks for sharing.

Subject: fantastic performance
My perspective is only as a listener, not as an attendee, but I don't think i have ever heard DSO sound closer to the real thing then in this recording. I have seen quite a few DSO shows, but in terms of "sounding like the real thing" this is it. Jeff is scarily reminiscent of JG, and the rest of the band is spot on. Not my favorite in terms of recording quality, but thanks to the taper is still deserved for capturing this great show!

And you are back at your favorite GD show! DSO is incredible and took this wonderful setlist from 4/33/69 and made it their own! Superb jams, spacey, organic, totally satisfying! Great recording--thanks Lenny!

Notes

Notes:
- Performing 04/22/69 The Ark, Boston, MA
- This show was the oldest set of Grateful Dead music DSO had ever performed in 13 years together
- @ Jeff on Acoustic
- Jerry Birthday dedication before Viola
- Fantastic show! If there was any doubt about DSO changing the lead guitar role, this show should eliminate it.
